Light at the End of the Tunnel
I’m approaching the end of the project, which is bittersweet. I suppose that’s true of all artistic endeavors: the joy of completion and witnessing a vision come into reality, but the journey is over. I’m already thinking of the next several projects and looking forward to starting those. However, before I do that, I have two commissions I need to complete.
Following a lovely time in North Carolina for my Part A of our honeymoon (we had to postpone our Danube River cruise to next year due to the pandemic), Part B has involved relaxation at home combined with the uninterrupted opportunity to work on our art projects. Several elements are expected to be completed during this time; I thought maybe I could complete the whole table by October 25, but that seems too ambitious given other commitments.
Some highlights include actinium, in which I use a blue florescent paint from Culture Hustle (since this element glows blue in the dark); tantalum, which happens to be the element used in the manufacture of my wedding band; and beryllium, a common metal used in aerospace, especially rocket engine components.
