More progress…

I’m making steady progress on the Periodic Table, having completed 79 panels, or about 67% of the total table.

I’m quite pleased with the way the individual panels look and how the entire table appears when the panels are connected. I estimate that the completed project will weigh a bit less than 100 pounds, which is less than I somehow imagined, which is good.

Radium was fun - I purchased some cool luminescent powder from Culture Hustle, which I mixed in with a white acrylic base. The resultant panel glows intensely, even in daylight. A superb product, to be sure. I bought some Mirror as well, a chrome paint that looks like mercury straight out fo the bottle. It’s really amazing stuff, but did not create the effect I was looking for on the mercury panel. I’ve since decided that paint is not the way to go here; instead, I intend to electroplate the panel, a process I’ve never done before but look forward to exploring. The result should be a mirror finish.

Onward!
