Another day, another element…

Gallium is finished and has been bolted to the p-block. Gallium is interesting because it is a metal with a low melting point - if you put a solid piece of gallium in your hand, it will melt. Oddly, it leaves a metallic, wet residue on your skin, unlike the more well-known mercury. Artistically, I wanted to represent this phase shift somehow, ultimately deciding on manipulating tacky acrylic paint. I also added some old light emitting diodes, as gallium is a key constituent in their composition.

I also bolted oganesson and livermorium to the p-block. These elements, and a bunch of others (elements 99 through 118) are synthetic, radioactive, and likely never appearing in nature and don’t last long enough for amounts visible to the naked eye can be produced. So, I went with a generic representation for these - black and white.
